Broadcast to a Printer
Completed
Is there a way to schedule a report to send to a printer in Yellowfin?
We have 4 weekly graphs for 12 machines that they would like to print and post on the bulletin board for each machine. The person in charge of this would prefer to not have to open all the different emails and print each attached report.

Hello MaryAnn Martin,
My name is Siddartha Pathi from the Yellowfin Technical Support Team. We have received your support request, and I will be your primary contact on the following ticket:
Ticket Number: #{33666}
Case Title: {Broadcast to a Printer}
Yellowfin does not natively support scheduling reports to be sent directly to a printer. However, an alternative approach is available.
You can use the Broadcast functionality, specifically the “Schedule Reports to Save to Disk” option. This allows reports to be automatically saved to a designated location on your network. From this location, the saved reports can then be accessed and printed as required.
For further details, please refer to the link provided below.

Yeah, unfortunately there’s no direct “print” broadcast in Yellowfin.
What we ended up doing is similar to what support suggested: schedule reports to save to a shared network folder, then use a small script on a local machine (or print server) to automatically pick up new files and send them to the default printer.
It’s a bit of a workaround, but once set up it’s fully automated and avoids opening emails one by one

Hello MaryAnn Martin,
Thank you for your response.
I just wanted to confirm whether William Corlin is part of your team, as I noticed his email ID is a Gmail address rather than an official company email.
Also, at the moment, the only available option on our side in Yellowfin is the “Save to Disk” feature. As William suggested, we can save these broadcasts to a network folder and then use a small script on a local machine (or print server) to automatically pick up the new files.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please reach out to us. We're here to help.

Sorry to interrupt this very post, but some printers, specially does who has network features, comes with a special one that allow you to print by email. Epson and HP are Models that usually comes with this kind of option.
In this sugestion, all you have to do is to configure your printer to register an email that every attach send to this adress is printed directly.
I hope this information can be of any help.

Renato Marcello
