How to get Yellowfin to force SAML authentication over LDAP or standard login?

Hi Guys,

We're experiencing an issue with Yellowfin's authentication flow. While we have a SAML URL that successfully logs users in via Okta, direct access to Yellowfin through our VIP bypasses this and presents the default /login screen.

We need to ensure that SAML authentication is enforced when users access Yellowfin via the VIP, rather than defaulting to LDAP or Yellowfin authentication.

We've thoroughly reviewed the admin configuration panel without success. Is there a way to configure Yellowfin to prioritise SAML authentication in this scenario, perhaps through a configuration file?

Hi Kyle,

I hope you are doing well and thank you for submitting your question to Yellowfin Support.

Just to confirm, you don't want to allow any access to Yellowfin via the direct URL? Some clients prefer to allow this in case third-party services are offline or unavailable for some reason.

One quick workaround would be to create a simple custom login page that doesn't present login boxes to the user. I'll have to double check if there's a way to disable it otherwise.

Kind regards,

Chris
