Predefined Filter than can't be changed in the report

I would like to set a filter for a report to "last 4 weeks" but not allow this to be changed on the report. So far, I haven't figure out how to do this.

For the filter formatting, I have the Value List Selection and I'm setting Last 4 weeks as my default. This is exactly what I want, but I don't want this to be changed in the report.

Hello David,

My name is Diego Gabanzo from the Yellowfin Technical Support Team. We have received your support request, and I will be your primary contact on the following ticket:

Ticket Number: #33470
Case Title: Predefined Filter than can't be changed in the report

Issue Overview:

Thank you for your request. Based on the case description, you would like to set a filter for a specific period of time and that this cannot be changed in the report. For this have you tried to use Defined Value option in the Data step > Advanced Settings? Because this may help to set the value during the report creation process so the report is always restricted to the same result subset.

In the meantime, I will perform some tests to check if there is any way to avoid that this can be changed on the report using Value List Selection.

I have the filter setup in the Advanced settings to last 4 weeks. I don't currently see the filter option in the preview of the report. Not sure exactly what is keeping it hidden, but the report is setup the way I need it to be.

Thanks

Hi David,

Thank you for your response. I am glad to hear that the report is setup as required.

I have performed more tests, and could not find a way to restrict the ability of the users to make changes to the filter configured using Filter General Settings > Formatting > Entry Style with options:

- Value entry method -> Value List Selection

- Value list setup -> Pre-defined Periods

- Default value -> Last 4 weeks.

Therefore, we would recommend you to use the Filter configuration as you have done in the Data Step through the Filter settings on the filter itself> Value > Defined Value > Pre-defined Period as indicated below:

48ea7b8ec9e0024741f7d0fb69b5c4a8

This will not show the dropdown list with the options available for the user with access to the report.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions related.

Sincerely,

Diego
