PDF (beta) - cannot handle co-content

Hi Support-Team,

the new PDF export is really good, fast, and requires significantly fewer resources. We use it practically everywhere and have almost forgotten about the old exporter.

However, you still need to make improvements to co-content in reports, as the transfer of filter values to the co-content does not work at all and an error message is displayed in the export instead of the content: “You must fill in all mandatory filters.”

Fortunately, you can easily reproduce this yourself.

  1. Create a report with a mandatory filter.
  2. Create a co-report with the same mandatory filter.
  3. Connect report (1) to report (2) to the right of it or above/below it and use the filter value from report (1).
  4. Run report (1).

You will see the result and the filtered data from report (2). That's OK.

If you now export the data as a Word document, all the data will be included. That's OK.

If you use the PDF (beta) exporter, you will only see the data in the main report; all co-reports will display an error message stating that a filter has not been filled.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for trying out the latest Fast PDF feature and sharing your feedback.

Please note that Fast PDF is still in beta, so some content may not work as expected. In such cases, we recommend using the default PDF exporter.

Hi Stefan,

Hope you're having a good week.

Just wanted to check-in and see how it's all going. Is there anything you are needing from me to help get this resolved?

Kind regards,

Hi Deepak,

I don't believe the error is due to a complex formatting issue. Please report it as a bug to the responsible team so it can be fixed quickly.

Thanks

Hi Stefan,

I tried to replicate the behavior but was unsuccessful.

Please refer to the attachment for reference and let me know if I have missed anything.

Also, please confirm if this occurs only with one particular data source/view or across all data sources (including Ski Team).

Thanks,

Deepak

Hi Deepak,

I can't answer all your questions this year, as I'm already on Christmas vacation and won't be back until January 6, 2026.

What I can say is that it affects all of our views and reports that have a co-view based on filter values from the parent. The strange thing is that all Exports works for me, except (!) the PDF beta. So the report configuration can't be wrong.

I wish you a relaxing Christmas and a good start to the new year.

;) Stefan
