Hi Team,

Is there any way we can add conditional formatting to numeric display.

I want to implement traffic light (red, amber ,green) formatting based on value.

Hello Dylan,

Yes, you can add conditional formatting to numeric displays in Yellowfin. You can create conditional formatting rules for your report columns, which can include traffic light formatting (red, amber, green) based on the value. This is done by setting up rules that compare the column value to a set value or another column, and then applying styles such as font color or background color to indicate different conditions.

For more detailed information on how to set up conditional formatting, you can refer to the following link: Columns Conditional Formatting.

Hi Priya,

Thanks for your response. I think there may have been a slight misunderstanding.

I'm not looking to apply conditional formatting to report columns—my requirement is specifically around applying conditional formatting to a Number Display chart. I’d like the numeric value shown in the chart to change color (e.g., red, amber, green) based on value thresholds, similar to traffic light formatting.

Could you please advise if this is possible directly within the Number Display chart settings, or suggest a workaround if not?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Dylan,

Thank you for your patience, Unfortunately, currently there is no option to apply conditional formatting only to a Number Display chart. In our previous meeting, we used the conditional formatting option on the design page. When we choose the conditional widget, the fields are hidden. We checked with our team and found that the conditional widget functionality is designed to hide and show a widget based on a condition. Its effect is only visible when using the Preview Canvas mode, but does not reflect in Design mode. This behavior is intentional, as allowing the widget to hide during design could make it difficult to locate or adjust on the canvas.

We can apply this to columns in the design page, but to see the changes, we need to enable conditional formatting in the Charts tab. As shown below video.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please reach out to us. We're here to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Priya.
