Suggestion for Sections
In Yellowfin, when using the Sections feature in a chart, each distinct value of a categorical column generates a separate visualization, filtering the data accordingly. However, there is currently no native option to automatically include an additional section representing the Total—i.e., the sum or aggregation of all categories.
It would be useful to have the ability to enable an option that automatically adds this "Total" section. This would allow users to see, in addition to individual breakdowns, an overall summary of the data without needing to create manual filters or additional queries.
In practice, this functionality would act as a comprehensive filter that selects all categories at once, equivalent to an IN clause in SQL, such as:
IN('Category1', 'Category2', 'Category3', 'Category4', 'Category5')This enhancement would make comparative analyses within the chart more intuitive, improving the visualization of each category's impact relative to the total.
Hi Flávio,
I hope you're doing well. Thanks for submitting your suggestion to Yellowfin. I'll take a look and get back to you.
Kind regards,
Chris
