Data source substitution issue

Hello,

It appears for some reason our data source substitution isn't working properly. I have setup the data source at both the primary org level, and the client level. In the primary org I've selected the source for the company under usage parameters. When I open the report, it still shows data from the primary org. I checked the SQL and it is not updating the schema. Any idea what could be causing this? We're using the Redshift 4.1 driver and we're on YF version 9.8.0 build 20220921.

Hi Tara,

Thanks for reaching out to support with your issue. I was able to find this in our developer platform -

Cannot use datasource substitution between schemas - Redshift

Redshift, much like postgres, allows you to create individual schemas within a single database. Many people on Redshift use this to delineate between their client data.

While data-source substitution works well between database it does not between schemas.

Does this sound like what you're experiencing here? If so I can get you added to the task.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

Yes, we have multiple schemas in a single database. Due to our pipeline architecture, that was our only option.

It would be nice to have an enhancement for this as it is too cumbersome to update content across all clients. It is a bit deceiving since it lets you pick different schemas like traditional database substitution.

What do you mean by "added to the task"? Does that mean something is in the works?

Thanks for your guidance on this,

Tara

Hi Tara,

This looks to be a known issue with the software, which remains unresolved at this time. I can get you added as an affected client for additional visibility, and attach this ticket to the task for tracking purposes. Does this sound like a good way forward here?

Thanks,
Eric
