JSON REST use HTTP POST or PUT instead of GET

Is there a way to tell the data source to use "http post" to get data instead of "http get" when using the json data source together with a REST endpoint

sorry for the delay in responding, I needed to contact the developer who wrote that connector and he wasn't around, however, just now we have had a meeting about it and he says he will look into it and hopefully get back to me by the end of the day, or if not then, tomorrow.

the developer says that he has checked the source code and it is not possible, however, he also says that he likes your idea and would like to implement it in the future so that the user will have the choice of whether they want to get or post.
