What does multicast do?

Hi,

I have a development licence and noticed I have multicast = 10, what is this used for?

Thanks

The Multicast feature allows you to deliver reports to un-named users.

This means you won't need to have a licence for every user that receives reports via email.
It also affects the ability of using reporting web-services. This will be disabled if you do not have a multicast licence.
However using admin web-services (client management etc..) will not be affected by this.

Also, having this licence will also allow you to broadcast reports to an FTP site.

In order for this to be enabled, you would need to have a multicast licence that has the minimum number of cores your CPU has on the Yellowfin server.

David
