Based on your manual documentation (administrator guide - Implementation, Integration & customisation), Outgoing Mail Settings section, the steps on how to configure the mail setting is too brief. Is SMTP server only for yellowfin mail server?
This can be any SMTP server. and doesn't need to be dedicated to Yellowfin. Type in the hostname or IP address in the Configuration Setttings from the Administration page.
