How to migrate from one env to other

we have a development environment where we are developing reports. since i wish to migrate all the views, reports, users, roles, user group, categories settings etc we wish to migrate to production env with the same DB by using the option 'use existing DB' while installing.

we tried using this but found out the migrated DB was overwritten.
can you please find us a way out?

if there is any option to just install the YF binaries and then reconfigure it later to point to a valid database?

Hi Nitin,

The option 'use existing database' does clear the database, there is no way to install just the Yellowfin binaries.

Your only option is to;
-Install Yellowfin on your new environment in any database of your choice.
-Copy over the database from the old environment and restore over the top of the blank DB.

As long as you are using the same YF version, and the same database type (e.g. SQL server on both instances) it should just work.

Hi I have installed the yellowfin creating a new database yellowfin in my server. But we have the exisiting DB where we have all our datas in it. Is there a way to migrate the datas in the working DB to yellowfin DB?
