Default Client Organizations for LDAP Users

Hi,

I wanted to know if we can set the Client Organization for LDAP users who login for the first time. By default the user is part of the default client org and when the login for the first time they get access to the default client org.
This will help to ensure during the first login they get assigned to the right client org.

I have been able to set the default role by mapping it to an attribute in LDAP.

I am testing on version 6.2

Please suggest.

Regards

Hi Renison,

at the moment this is not possible, however there has already been an enhancement request raised (task ID = 110704) for adding LDAP groups to client organisations, this would help achieve what you are describing I think.

This won't be on the implementation list for Yellowfin 6.3, however I'll bring it up when we are discussing the 6.4 roadmap later in the year.

Dave

Thank you Dave.

Is there any way I can import users from LDAP without having the user to login for the first time.

So that i can set both the role and client org in Yellofin before the user logs in.

Regards

Hi Renison,

If you really wanted to, you could create YF users and then switch them to an LDAP user as mentioned in the following post : Assigning source filters to LDAP users who don't yet exist in the Yellowfin Database

However you shouldn't need to do this as you're not really saving any time.
Also the default role will be given to all new users (irrespective of LDAP or not).

Though you will not be able to assign a user to a client until they have logged in.

Regards,
David
