I am experiencing an issue with Yellowfin,
When opening, all windows are displaying
?error running report?
?a connection could not be established to the source database?
So it looks like a link has gone somewhere along the line connecting to the database?>?, the server with the database is on and running fine, we have not applied any changes to that server .
And idea on where we can start to troubleshoot.
If you open the datasource page from "Administration->Source Systems and Views" menu, you can test the connection.
This error will occur if:
- The database server has been moved, and has another IP address or hostname.
- The database credentials have been changed.
- Communication between the Yellowfin Server and the Database server has been blocked, either physically or via a firewall etc.
- The Database server hasn't been started.
There will also be a log file in Yellowfin/appserver/logs/ called source??.log which will contain information about the JDBC connection to this source database. If you look in this file you may see a log line mentioning the reason that it is not connecting correctly.
If you're still having problems connecting please send through the logs from the logs directory.
