Hi Parkash,

Thanks for reaching out with your question. The process you need to take will depend on your OS.

Windows -

When installing Yellowfin in Windows, you have the ability to generate the service file during install. If you did not choose this method you can follow the instructions here to install the service.

Linux -

For Linux it will be necessary to create a system file (systemd), or a symlink to the startup script if running the older init process. For more information on creating a system file please review this link. Particularly step 9 and on.

Let me know if this is what you were looking for.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Parkash,

If you've installed Yellowfin as a service, you can simply set it to 'Automatic' start. This can be done via the 'Services' applet. Simply find Yellowfin, right-click, choose Properties, and set it to Automatic start.

You do not need to schedule the program. If you feel you do have need to do so, this is outside the scope of Yellowfin Support.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Prakash,

Happy to help. In order to install two separate Yellowfin services on one box, you will need to name your services differently.

The command

service install Yellowfin

will install the service and name it Yellowfin.

Once you have an existing service named Yellowfin, you will have to use a different name. I often denote the version with my service name, such as:

service install Yellowfin74
Thanks,

Ryan
