CLOB Line Breaks in Data

Using Smart Reporting - we have a database CLOB field which has line breaks but this is not getting translated across to the report table in Smart Reporting. Instead everything is getting mapped to a wall of text.

Is there a way to fix this / introduce a line break?

Hi Brijesh,

Line breaks and other escape characters will not appear within a report's table. However, these characters are still present, so alternative display will be your best option.

One thing worth trying here is to use the "HTML" or "Raw" formatters:

Let me know if this works for you.

Hi Nathan,

Unfortunately it did not. Is there a “replace string” feature that could be utilised? Could potentially use this to replace a string of characters (“---------“) with a visual line break?

Hi Brijesh,

Not built into the product, so this would probably need to be done with a freehand-SQL statement.

Nathan
