Need a table visual for the chart builder

Currently in the chart builder, there is no option for a tabular visual. Sure there is always the default YF table that shows up on the bottom of every report, but having a tabular visual would be hugely beneficial for:

1. when there is more info to show than what is suitable a bar/chart/whatever graph

2. interactive table, with filtering and drill-down and etc. (the best part of a BI dashboard!!)

3. table formatting that makes it look nicer

4. canvas formatting that makes the whole report more presentable

Lots of competitor programs (such as PowerBI) already has this feature and it is just awesome. Please YellowFin let's also have a table visual!!!

Hi Yan,

Thanks for reaching out.

Currently, we have most of the features already in YF reports.

For example:

1. Sparkline : https://wiki.yellowfinbi.com/display/yfcurrent/Report+table+Sparklines . We can use the Sparkline formatter(Column format) along with Sparkline Advance function to get the spark lines within the report.

2. Drill : https://wiki.yellowfinbi.com/display/user80/Drill+Down+Reports#:~:text=Yellowfin has drill down functionality,from different angles and levels.

3. We may utilize the Report formatting, Column formatting options to make visual changes to report

Hi Deepak,

With the functionalities you have mentioned, I still wouldn't be able to:1. (most important for dashboarding) easily pivot a row-based table, which is better for storage to a row & column table, which is better for readability. Sure I could do it in the back end, but it adds tons of extra work

2. insert figures into/around the table, like how I would have been able to interact with other charts from the chart-builder

Hi Yan,

Yes, I understand that we may not be able to customize the report canvas (adding shapes, images around) for a simple report. I will go ahead and create a request with the wider team to consider implementing table visual chart in the chart builder section.
