Hi

I have a question about formatting the Amount in Indian Numbering System. Typically a value like 650520 is formatted and shown as 650,520. In Indian subcontinent, the same value is displayed as 6,50,520

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_numbering_system

One of our partners raised concern about this./050733ee1faca3b22796b180c44582a9

The terms lakh (100,000) and crore (10,000,000) are the most commonly used insted of Million.

Hi Pratap,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Currently there isn't a method to change the decimal formatting to Indian Numbering System. The only way to achieve this would to be write your own custom formatter, which could then apply the appropriate formatting to your decimal fields.

For more information on custom formatters please see below;

Creating Custom Formatters

I hope this helps.

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the revert, as you have mentioned that it is possible through Custom Formatter but, what about "40m" m represents Million here, the user doesn't want this in Million he wants to show this as "Lakhs or Crores" Indian Notation like "4cr".

Hi Pratap,

Thank you for getting back to me.

The suffix will come from the translation file, see example below:

d2797ae835e8a31b83f4a9636858d613

However, please note this is only available for currently translated languages:

English, German, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Thai

To manage this you would need to look at adding your own translations into your environment. Details on Content Translation can be found here.

I hope this makes sense, please let me know if you have any further questions.
