Yellowfin build version using installer (fresh and upgrade)

Hi Team,

There is any way to get yellowfin build version and Major version using installer.

Like Command :

yellowfin-installer.jar -version

Output looks like something:

Yellowfin 8.0 yyyymmdd

I think if it not developed yet then also it will not take more time to fix it.

I need this for both fresh/upgrade.

Thanks,

Vishal

Hi Vishal,

We do not have that as an option. In general the file names themselves have the version and build date in them, but obviously they can be renamed or changed etc and some of the older version did not. I would need to create this as an idea for the dev team to do.

In the mean time on a MAC or Linux machine you could run something like

# unzip -p yellowfin-8.0.3-20190905-full.jar installerinfo.txt

Installer built at 2019-09-05 22:58:20 AEST (+1000)

java.version: 1.8.0_211

os.name: Linux

os.version: 4.4.0-145-generic

build.version: 8.0

code.version: 20190905

Let me know if that helps.

Hi Paul,

.

This this I'm already doing, and for upgrade it will not work. I'm looking for some generic way to get versions. We do rename installer jar with same name as we don't wanted to increase files.

Please raise idea if it's applicable.

Thanks,

Vishal

Hi Vishal,

We do not have this option available at the moment. You can get this from the info.jsp output though - http://yoururl:port/info.jsp
