Hi Yellowfin Team,


I am trying to install yellowfin application in my system, While installing in the step of database details i connect with help of local SQL server at that time it showing an error .Please find the below attached file for your referance.

It looks like the hostname is wrong.

Please enter the correct hostname and try again.

Hi Mounika,


Thanks for attending remote session today.

At this stage after changing the local host name, we are encountering with different error message.

As we tried to find out the Port number, we couldn't get the right information. So please speak to your DBA and find out the right details and then try to install.

Hopefully you will get the issue resolved. Incase if you are still having an issue, please let me know, I am happy to help you out with the installation by providing another screen share session.

Hi Mounika,


Thanks for following the instructions.

Please install squirrel client software and see if you can connect to SQL server or not, that will tell us if it is an issue with connecting to SQL server externally.

Because I believe it is an issue connecting to your SQL database, some settings on SQL server might be stopping it.


See how you go with that and let me know the outcome.

Thanks for your gudiance,

I fixed the issue, I traied another way to uninstall SQL server,and again i reinstalled SQL server as wel as yellowfin also

Now its Working fine.
