[NOTICE] Yellowfin is currently not compatible with Java 24, 25 and 26 - UPDATE

Mark McGuire shared this announcement 9 months ago

Yellowfin is currently not compatible with Java 24, 25 and 26.

A bug was introduced in Java 24 that prevented a Yellowfin dependency, Liquibase, from working correctly. The error in Java has been given the ID JDK-8350481.

Symptoms of this issue include the Yellowfin Installer and Updaters stopping part way through installation, and errors on startup when starting the Yellowfin application.

We would highly recommend using Java 21 LTS until the bug in Java has been addressed.

In addition, Yellowfin 9.8 and earlier versions will need to run with Java 11 LTS. This is because these versions were incompatible with changes that were implemented in Java 15 and 16.

UPDATE

This has since been resolved in our recent release of 9.17.1.
More information for 9.17.1 can be found here.

Regards,

The Yellowfin Team
